Buying a hardness tester for your company is a large and important investment. Not only in terms of price, but important in terms of your manufacturing or production process. Open Communication with You and Manufacturers

One of the obvious considerations for after sales support is who is going to be available for questions about the hardness testers after you buy it? As much as we would like everything to go perfect right out of the box, sometimes things go wrong. Even after you have used the hardness tester for a while, something might go amiss. You need to consider who can you go to for help with trouble shooting any issues. This includes training if needed.

Test Blocks

This means one of the after-sales considerations is having a company or source of on hand hardness test blocks

You also need to know what range you are testing in. If you are testing multiple ranges, you are going to want hardness test blocks close to those ranges.

Anvils and Indenters

Are you testing different-sized parts or different materials? This is definitely applicable to benchtop hardness testers. If you are testing different sizes and shapes, you are going to need different anvils. Anvils are what the piece you are testing sits on. It can be of different sizes and shapes, including flat or “v-ed” so a pipe can sit in the anvil. You are going to want a supplier that can help you talk through those things and help supply you with the different anvils and even indenters that you will need in order to test the material you are working on.

Calibration Certificate

How often do you need to get a calibration certificate? Typical ISO standards say once a year. Your internal process though may require more. However often you need them done, it requires either someone to come on to your site, or have the tester shipped to and from.
